A custom-designed kitchen is one of the best investments you can make in your home: you use it every day, and it increases your property's value. But with so many options in Querétaro, it's normal not to know where to begin. At Balaya Kitchens, we've been manufacturing kitchens and closets in our own workshop since 2018, and this is the guide we give our clients to help them make the right decision.

1. Think about how you use your kitchen

Before looking at finishes, think about your daily routine: Do you cook every day or only on weekends? Do you want an island or breakfast bar? Do you need space for large appliances? These factors will determine whether an L-shaped, U-shaped, peninsula, or island kitchen is right for you.

2. Request a 3D design before manufacturing

A 3D design lets you see what your kitchen will look like before you invest. At Balaya, we measure your space free of charge and deliver the 3D design; based on that design, we give you the final quote, so you know exactly what you're paying for.

3. Choose quality materials and hardware

Good quality melamine is durable, easy to clean, and comes in many colors and wood-look textures. Equally important are the hardware items: quality hinges and drawer slides ensure your doors and drawers function well for years to come. For humid areas, such as the bathroom or near the sink, request moisture-resistant materials.

4. Choose a manufacturer, not a middleman.

When a company manufactures in its own workshop, it controls the quality of every piece, from cutting to installation, and doesn't add the markup of a middleman. We manufacture everything in our workshop in San Pedrito Peñuelas with a panel saw and edgebander for precise cuts.

5. Ask about the process and payments

A good supplier explains each step: initial estimate, 3D design and budget, approval, workshop manufacturing, installation, and final delivery. At Balaya, the payment schedule is 60% advance payment to begin manufacturing, 20% during installation (at 80% completion), and 20% upon delivery of the finished project.

6. Review real projects

Ask the manufacturer for photos of kitchens they've delivered. We've completed projects for families, architects, and construction companies in Querétaro, Juriquilla, Corregidora, and El Marqués, ranging from kitchens with islands to custom cabinetry for mass-produced homes.
